Intellectual Freedom

The WLA School Library Division supports the rights of students to access high-quality, appropriate, relevant resources to support both their academic growth and individual interests. We believe school library collections should represent diverse viewpoints, populations, and experiences while being accurate and timely. The role of the school librarian is to advocate for the rights of students to select their own reading material.

This page is meant to serve as a guide for teacher librarians when materials are challenged. It may also be beneficial to visit the Collection Development page (coming soon).
