2019 WLA Elections

Voting is Open September 1-30

As an active WLA member, please take a moment to vote for our 2019 Board, Division, and Section leadership!

Step 1: Read through the candidate statements.
Step 2: Vote using our online ballot.

To access the voting form, you will need to log in to your WLA account. All current WLA members may vote for WLA Board positions, and ballots for WLA Divisions and Sections are restricted to current members of those groups. Each position also has the option for a write-in candidate.

Winners will be announced October 3, and incoming and outgoing leadership will be recognized at the 2018 WLA Conference, October 17–20 in Yakima. The new elected terms will begin January 1.

If you have questions or trouble logging in, please contact the WLA office.

The nomination deadline has been extended to Wednesday, August 22, for all WLA leadership positions!

Looking for leadership experience to help with your career? Need a reason to meet new library people and expand your network? WLA wants you!

Nominations are now open for all vacant 2019 WLA leadership positions, from the WLA Board of Directors to our Division and Section steering committees. Read the position descriptions to see the duties of each position and make informed decisions about getting involved and running for office. Position terms and descriptions are based on WLA Bylaws unless otherwise decided by divisions or sections. If you have questions about any position, you may contact the WLA Office, or go the the current Board, Division, or Section roster to find contact information for the person that currently fills the position, or to whom the position reports. Please note that WLA Committee Chairs are appointed by the Board President and do not need to go through this election process.

Terms of office begin January 1, 2019, and are one year, unless otherwise noted.

To nominate yourself or another WLA member, please fill out the nomination form by August 22, 2018, with the candidate's name, employer or connection to libraries, email address and phone number.
