National Resources for Library School Students
Hack Library School: Blog run through WordPress by and for MLIS students worldwide. Topics discussed include conferences, curriculum, internships, job searching, work/life balance, and more. Writing for HLS can be great resume-material for MLIS students - your LISS leadership team will try to let you know when they’re recruiting!
ALA New Members' Round Table Resume Review Service: The New Members Round TAble (NMRT) offers two resume review services: one at the annual convention which is open to anyone, and one that’s conducted over email and is open to members. Learn what’s required to participate in the online service here. Membership in NMRT requires a small annual fee in addition to ALA’s membership fee; learn more about the benefits associated with NMRT membership, and how to join, here.
ALA organization chart: Copies of this handy chart outlining how ALA’s various divisions, offices, and round tables were distributed at ALA Annual in 2019. We have yet to obtain a .pdf version of this document, but will share it here if we do when we’re able.
