2019 WA Library Legislative Day

Committee Roster | Library-Related Legislation | WA Library Legislative Day

Join us in Olympia on February 6 for the WA Library Legislative Day, sponsored by WLA! This is a great opportunity to network with library supporters from around the state and meet with State Legislators and their staff to discuss the value of libraries and the impact laws have on them.

This event is free to attend. Online registration is closed, but registration will be available onsite.

New location: Room 112, Legislative Building, 416 Sid Snyder Ave SW, Olympia, WA 98504

Meeting with Legislators

As soon as possible after registering, it is important to contact any district representatives with whom you would like to meet that day. You will receive guidance during Legislative Day morning activities on how best to approach those meetings. If you need to verify your representatives, visit the State District Finder, which will direct you to the email addresses for your district’s State Representatives and Senators.

Here is a sample meeting request:

Dear Representative <name>, I am <name> with <organization>. I will be attending Washington Library Legislative Day in Olympia on February 6 and would like to request a meeting with you to discuss some library-related concerns (or library issues within my district; or the importance of libraries; etc). I can be available to meet any time after 11:30 am that day. What time would work for you?
