2014 Keynote Speakers

Ciscoe Morris - Welcome Breakfast Keynote Speaker

Join beloved Pacific Northwest gardener extraordinaire, Ciscoe Morris, for a rousing presentation at our Opening Breakfast Reception. Ciscoe will share environmentally friendly ideas for making your gardens more attractive and easier to maintain without having to resort to chemical pesticides. He'll also discuss ways to attract hummingbirds and other wildlife. You'll love Ciscoe's fun stories and gardening giveaways!
Ciscoe Morris hosts TV gardening shows on KING5 and NWCN.  He writes a weekly column in the Seattle Times, and his book 'Ask Ciscoe' was a national bestseller.  Best of all, thanks to all  those brussel sprouts he eats, he's even better looking in real life than on TV!

Banquet Dinner Keynote Speaker
Separate Ticketed Event $50

Join us for an evening of dining and eavesdropping as we listen in on an animated, cross-genre conversation between Fantasy legend Terry Brooks, PNW fiction favorite Jim Lynch, and fresh & funny Young Adult author Sean Beaudoin. Keeping this motley crew in line and well moderated will be author Jennie Shortridge. This band of authors from the Seattle7Writers group will have us in stitches, or perhaps will need stitches, before the night is out. Either way, it's guaranteed to be a lively and entertaining event. Event to be immediately followed by book signings.

Marissa Meyer - CAYAS Breakfast Keynote Speaker
Separate Ticketed Event $25

Join us for breakfast with your colleagues, featuring a presentation from New York Times bestselling author of The Lunar Chronicles, Marissa Meyer. Marissa will share with us the inspiration behind The Lunar Chronicles and how a passion for fandoms and fanfiction, Sailor Moon and Star Trek influenced her as a writer. She will also entertain us with an original Grimm fairy tale, told Marissa-style.
Marissa is a New York Times bestselling author of The Lunar Chronicles, which envision fairy tale characters in a distant, high-tech future.  She has a BA in creative writing from Pacific Lutheran University (emphasis on children's literature) and an MS in publishing from Pace University.  She lives in Tacoma, WA with her husband and three cats.  Visit her on the web at http://marissameyer.com
